Jacqueline Fernandez grew up in Bahrain, Manama. She is Sri Lankan and comes from an ethnically diverse background. Her father Elroy is a Sri Lankan (Catholic Sinhalese) and her mother, Kim is a Malaysian. Jacqueline has two older siblings and a younger sibling. In the 1980s, her parents emigrated to Bahrain in protest against the civil war over Sri Lanka. In the end, she was born and raised in the country. Schooling was finished at Bahrain and she received a Scholarship for the University of Sydney. There she graduated with an Media and Communications degree. As a lover of culture as well as languages, she joined Berlitz Language School in which she learned Spanish as well as enhancing her French as well as Arabic. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 was title in the month of March, 2006; she also participated in Miss Universe 2006 She entered television after winning an award for the Miss Sri Lanka title. The show she hosts, Lanka Business Report, covers Sri Lankan business. Padukone's father is a professional badminton player Prakash Padukone. Padukone has been raised both in Copenhagen and Bangalore. As a teenager, she competed at national-level badminton competitions, but quit playing and went on to become a designer. Padukone was born in Mangalore in India. Her mother tongue Konkani is her origin. Padukone is a village located within the Kundapura Taluk located in Udupi located in Karnataka State of India is where her family is derived from. Prakash Padukone's father was an international champion in badminton who has retiring. Her mother is a traveling agent.
